Print Content & Order Acceptance Policy
1. Purpose
This policy sets out SS Signs' right to review, refuse, cancel, or modify any print order at our sole discretion. It exists to protect our staff, equipment, customers, the public, and the SS Signs brand from content or orders that are unlawful, unsafe, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate for production.
This policy applies to all products and services produced or fulfilled by SS Signs, including but not limited to signage, banners, vehicle magnets, corflute prints, decals, flyers, and any custom or web-to-print orders submitted through shop.ss-signs.com.au or any other sales channel.
2. Sole Discretion to Refuse or Cancel
SS Signs reserves the absolute right, at its sole and unfettered discretion, to refuse to print, to cancel an order already placed, or to require changes to submitted artwork or copy, at any stage prior to dispatch, without being obliged to provide a detailed justification. Acceptance of payment or order confirmation does not obligate SS Signs to produce or supply the item if it is later found to fall within the grounds set out in Section 3.
Where an order is refused or cancelled under this policy, SS Signs will provide a full refund of any amount paid for the affected item, less any non-recoverable costs already incurred (for example, bespoke materials cut to size), unless the order was fraudulent, in which case Section 6 applies.
3. Grounds for Refusal
SS Signs may decline or cancel an order where it reasonably considers, in its own judgement, that the content or request falls into one or more of the following categories:
3.1 Offensive or inappropriate content
Content that a reasonable member of the intended or likely audience would consider offensive, discriminatory, obscene, or in poor taste, including but not limited to material that:
Vilifies or demeans a person or group on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or other protected characteristic
Contains sexually explicit, indecent, or gratuitously violent imagery or language
Promotes hatred, harassment, or extremist views
Is likely to cause distress if displayed in a public or shared setting
3.2 Endangering public safety
Content or signage that could mislead road users, emergency services, or the public, or that creates a safety risk, including but not limited to material that:
Imitates official regulatory, road, hazard, or emergency signage in a way likely to confuse or mislead
Provides false or dangerous safety, compliance, or hazard information
Is intended for placement in a location or manner that would breach signage placement, traffic, or safety regulations
Could reasonably be expected to distract drivers or obstruct sightlines when installed as directed
3.3 Fraudulent, unlawful, or infringing content
Orders that SS Signs reasonably believes involve or facilitate:
Fraud, scams, or misrepresentation of a business, product, or credential
Forged, counterfeit, or unauthorised reproduction of official documents, licences, permits, or identification
Infringement of a third party's trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property, including unlicensed use of logos or brand assets
Any activity that is illegal under Australian Commonwealth, state, or local law
3.4 Other grounds
Content that damages or is likely to damage the reputation of SS Signs by association
Content that SS Signs' production equipment or materials are not suited to reproduce safely or accurately
Orders where payment is disputed, reversed, or reasonably suspected to be fraudulent
Repeat or abusive conduct towards SS Signs staff in relation to the order
4. Review Process
- The following general process applies when an order is flagged for review:
Artwork or order details are reviewed by a staff member prior to production - If content raises a concern under Section 3, the order is escalated to a manager for a decision
- The customer is notified of the outcome, and where an order is refused, of any refund being processed
- SS Signs is not obliged to disclose the specific commercial or safety reasoning behind a refusal, though a general reason category may be provided at management's discretion
5. Customer Responsibility
By submitting an order, the customer confirms that:
-
They own or are authorised to use all content, logos, and imagery supplied
-
The intended use and placement of the finished product will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
-
They will indemnify SS Signs against any third-party claim arising from content they supplied
6. Fraudulent Orders
Where SS Signs reasonably suspects an order is fraudulent (including stolen payment details or false identity), the order will be cancelled, production halted, and no refund obligation arises to the party who placed the order. SS Signs reserves the right to report suspected fraud to the relevant payment provider, platform, or law enforcement authority.
7. No Waiver
Accepting or producing a previous order does not set a precedent or create an obligation for SS Signs to accept similar orders in future. Each order is assessed on its own merits at the time it is placed.
8. Policy Changes
SS Signs may update this policy at any time to reflect changes in law, business practice, or risk assessment. The version in effect at the time an order is placed applies to that order.
